Thailand-based accelerator Rise expands to Singapore with new AI program

Thailand-based accelerator Rise announced it’s expanding into Singapore through a partnership with Enterprise Singapore.

Rise is supported under the agency’s Startup SG Accelerator program, which provides mentorship and resources for startups based in Singapore. As a partner, Rise will help participating startups plug into Thailand’s innovation ecosystem and work with local partners to solve market needs through its global network of corporate and governmental agencies.

The partnership also gives more than 1,000 growth-stage startups in Rise’s network a chance to make Singapore the first Southeast Asian country to expand to outside of Thailand.

Rise and Enterprise Singapore also announced Rise.AI, a corporate AI accelerator program that will bring 30 AI startups from across the globe to Southeast Asia. Participating startups will work with the region’s top corporates for nine weeks.

The program will focus on delivering tangible business results to corporates rather than incubating early-stage startups, according to a statement.

Ten startups will fly to the city-state for the program’s Singapore leg, which will run from July to September.

Rise said it hopes to explore more initiatives with Enterprise Singapore in sectors such as health care and energy following Rise.AI.
