Smart locks secure this SG startup’s growth

Hi readers,

My wife and I are planning to move to a new place outside Metro Manila, the Philippines’ center. The process has been exciting so far, as we enjoy checking out photos for inspiration on our home and cooking up ideas of our own.

Our current residence has a smart home setup, which allows us to control the lights and air conditioner through our Alexa device. It’s something we plan to take to our new place.

We’re considering some upgrades, too, including adding a smart-entry system. We’ve been looking at door handles with lock codes for a while now, though I have to admit that smart locks – like those offered by Singapore-based Igloocompany – take home security up a notch.

It appears that others are interested in smart locks as well. Igloocompany’s revenue almost doubled in 2023, driven by a boost in sales. The startup also slashed its losses significantly last year.

Igloocompany’s success has been accelerated by its US expansion. The firm previously said that over half of its business comes from the country.

It will be interesting to see what other opportunities this company could unlock soon, especially with its plan to widen its reach in the US.
