The startup’s angel investors include HR tech entrepreneur Kenji Niwa, as well as the founders of live-chat software firm Zopim; Lim Qing Ru, Kwok Yang Bin, and Royston Tay.
StaffAny provides businesses with an enterprise software solution that can schedule staff and provides an on-site time clock, smart timesheets, leave application services, and real-time reports. It plans to use the fresh funds to underpin its growth and expansion plans, said a statement.
“According to a 2018 labor report by the Ministry of Manpower, there are over 735,000 hourly workers in the F&B and retail sectors and another 230,000 part-timers,” said StaffAny co-founder Janson Seah. The startup aims to get a 10% share of Singapore’s food and beverage market then expand overseas, he adds.
Prior to the seed funding round, the startup received a total of S$75,000 (roughly US$54,000) in grant funding from organizations such as the National University of Singapore (NUS), Enterprise SG, and StartupX, a pre-accelerator program in partnership with Temasek. The firm is also supported by NUS Enterprise, the university’s entrepreneurial arm.
