Existing investors including YourNest Venture Capital and Exfinity Ventures also participated in the round, according to a statement. To date, Practically has raised a total of US$9 million.
Practically is a learning app for students in grades 6 to 12 with a focus on STEM learning, which integrates the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. The platform offers features such as lifelike video content, live classes, and access to subject experts, among others.
“Our progress so far is in line with our strategic growth plans and we are very well placed to tap the accelerated growth that the edtech industry is witnessing today,” said Subbarao Siddabattula, founder and CEO of Practically.
The fresh funds will be used to expand the company’s operations throughout India in the next 12 months. Practically also aims to enter the Middle East and the US markets soon.
The company previously raised US$5 million in a series A funding round in 2019. It claims to engage over 300,000 registered students and more than 130 schools across India.
Practically will also capitalize on a soaring education market that is set to double its value to reach US$225 billion by financial year 2025, according to a report from the Indian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association and PGA Labs.
