Ant Group adds 3 international e-wallets as payment options in SG
Chinese financial giant Ant Group announced that it has added three more international mobile wallets that can be used for transactions in Singapore through its cross-border mobile payment solution Alipay+.
They are GCash from the Philippines, TrueMoney from Thailand, and AlipayHK from Hong Kong.

The mobile wallets add to Ant Group’s existing partnerships in the city-state, namely Alipay from China, Kakao Pay from South Korea, and Touch ‘n Go from Malaysia.
In a statement, Ant Group said that the move is an expansion of its partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board that was established in 2019.
Following the move, support will be added for international tourists that use those payment methods in their home countries. The three e-wallets can be used in Changi Airport, ComfortDelGro taxis, as well as in hotels and attractions around Singapore.
Prior to the pandemic, around a third of Singapore’s visitors were from Southeast Asia. This year, the top 15 tourist markets that have visited the city-state include Hong Kong, Mainland China, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines.
In June, Ant Group soft-launched Anext Bank, its digital bank in Singapore. The bank will be led by Toh Su Mei, a former executive of DBS Bank.
