The acquisition comes in the wake of Doctor Anywhere’s series C round of US$65.7 million at the end of August.
The startup said in a statement that deal will add 1 million consumers to its current user base of 1.5 million and will advance its mission to become the most prominent tech-enabled omnichannel healthcare provider in Southeast Asia.
The deal is set to make Doctor Anywhere the largest telemedicine platform in Thailand and is expected to grow its revenue in the country by over 5x in the next two years.
The combined overall network of Doctor Anywhere and Doctor Raksa covers more than 1,000 medical professionals and partners across pediatrics, cardiology, urology, gynecology, orthopedics, and more.
“Doctor Raksa is an established brand in Thailand,” said said Lim Wai Mun, founder and CEO of Doctor Anywhere. “The acquisition is a strategic move … as it will enable us to combine our strengths to meet the growing demand for telehealth in Thailand.”
To make telemedicine available to a wider audience within Thailand, Doctor Anywhere’s medication delivery services will be expanded to 38 provinces by the end of March 2022.
