Ex-Klaytn executive joins blockchain unicorn Immutable
Immutable, an Australia-based blockchain unicorn, has appointed crypto veteran David Shin as its head of business development for Asia Pacific (APAC) and interim head for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.

Shin is a former banker who has spent around a decade helping various crypto and blockchain projects. He was previously head of exchange at Bitcoin.com and the head of TZ APAC at the Tezos Foundation.
His last position before joining Immutable was the head of the global group at Klaytn Foundation.
At Immutable, Shin will be responsible for growing the company’s presence in APAC and EMEA and onboarding game studios and developers to its platform. He will also lead the firm’s engagement with local and regional officials who handle the blockchain sector.

Founded in 2018 by James Ferguson, Robbie Ferguson, and Alex Connolly, the company’s Immutable X platform helps firms build NFT trading services. The firm also develops and publishes NFT games such as Gods Unchained and Guild of Guardians.
In March, the blockchain firm raised US$200 million in a series C round led by Temasek, with participation from Animoca Brands and Tencent. The deal pushed its valuation to US$2.5 billion.
Headquartered in Sydney, Immutable currently has 300 employees.
