A larger, improved workspace will provide better experience and meet the needs of its employees, according to the company.

“Through our growing workforce, we endeavor to channel more effort into talent development in Malaysia to bolster our regional presence through strategic hires, upskills, and development of local talents,” said Teoh Jiun Ee, co-founder of the used-car marketplace and CEO of Carsome Academy.

The opening ceremony was officiated by Mahadhir Aziz, CEO of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC). He noted that Carsome’s talent development goals are in line with the Malaysia Digital plan, which aims to accelerate digital adoption among citizens.

Carsome also stated that it will double its local investment to further develop talents in different areas of specialization. It also plans to set up more refurbishment facilities in Southeast Asia to provide experience and job opportunities for workers.

The Malaysian unicorn recently announced that it was delaying to its dual-listing plans in Singapore and the US, citing concerns about how deteriorating macroeconomic conditions could adversely affect its valuation.
