Sequoia India’s Surge leads $6m round for browser testing platform LambdaTest
LambdaTest, a browser testing platform that’s based in San Francisco, announced it has secured US$6 million in a funding round led by Sequoia Capital India’s Surge, a scale-up program for startups in Southeast Asia and India.
Blume Ventures, Entree Capital, and Leo Capital also participated, along with Gokul Rajaram and Ramakant Sharma.

Founded in 2017 by Asad Khan and Jay Singh, LambdaTest is a testing infrastructure company that allows developers to test their websites and apps on browsers or in an operating system environment.
Test automation is “critical” but building an in-house device lab can be expensive for businesses, said the company.
LambdaTest said it bridges this gap by allowing users to run both manual and automated tests of their websites and web apps across over 2000 browsers and operating system environments.
With the platform, companies can test their website’s look, feel, and performance on different browsers, operating systems, and device combinations.
Since its inception, the company claimed it has been used to perform more than 12 million tests by its 350,000 users, which range from individuals to small and medium-sized enterprises to corporations such as Xerox, Cisco, Deloitte, Coca Cola, and Zoho.
LambdaTest also claims to have seen an 8% to 10% month-on-month growth in terms of signups, customers, website visits, and revenue, with more people shifting to digital technologies following the onset of the pandemic.
The new funds will help the company scale its ecosystem and build a “next-generation” cloud infrastructure for the developer and tester community, said its CEO Khan.
LambdaTest was part of Surge’s fourth cohort. It previously raised US$1 million in funding led by Leo Capital in 2018 and US$2 million in a pre-series A round from Blume Ventures and Leo Capital late last year.
