Sequoia backs India-based learning platform’s $17m series A

Toddle, an India-based edtech platform for teaching institutions, has secured US$17 million in a series A round led by Sequoia Capital India, with the participation of Tenacity Ventures and Trifecta Capita.

Existing investors such as Martix Partners India, Beenext, and Better Capital also joined the round.

“We continue to love [Toddle’s] relentless focus on building world-class products and consistent execution – resulting in strong ARR (annual recurring revenue) growth and close to zero churn in their business,” said Rajat Agarwal, managing director of Matrix Partners India.

Founded in 2019, Toddle started out as a teaching and learning platform for International Baccalaureate schools. Since then, the company has expanded its offerings to other international preschools and K-12 schools.

Toddle said that more than 40,000 educators from 1,500 schools in 100 countries use the platform. The software allows educational institutions to share learning resources across the globe and helps teaching teams improve collaboration for day-to-day work. 

The company noted that the Covid-19 pandemic has spurred a strong demand for school software – its value is expected to reach US$30 billion globally by 2030.
