Samsung Galaxy Note II Goes on Sale in Indonesia on Saturday

The Samsung Galaxy Note II will start selling in Indonesia this Saturday in five cities: Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Medan, and Makassar. Samsung Indonesia announced that the handset will be sold at IDR 7.5 million ($780). Every buyer will receive a bundled starter-pack from one of the three operator partners (Telkomsel, Indosat, and XL), and get free data for up to 12 months.

There will be a promotional discount offered on launch day. Credit card users will receive an IDR 500,000 ($52) discount, while BCA credit card users will receive around IDR 1.1 million ($114) [1] off of the price tag.

The Samsung Indonesia customer service representative tells me that usually it will take two to four weeks before the newly launched device will be available in nearby stores. The quantity of Galaxy Note II is limited during the launch, but Samsung has not revealed how many will be available. With the launch of other Samsung phones in the past – like the Galaxy SII last summer – proving to be very popular, it’s likely that all the Note II phones will sell out.

Meanwhile, Erafone offers better discount deals on the Samsung Galaxy Note II pre-orders, which run until today. You can check those out here.

  1. Besides the IDR 500,000 ($52) discount, BCA credit card users will receive an additional free one-time payment installment. This would mean a total discount of around IDR 1.1 million ($114).  ↩
