Saison Capital founding partner exits to focus on Web3 venture builder

Chris Sirise has left his post as a founding partner at Saison Capital to co-found LiquidX Studio, a venture builder that works with Web3 startups in the ideation stage.

LiquidX provides founders with the tech and fundraising they need to get their ideas to market. According to its LinkedIn page, the company, unlike incubators or accelerator programs, always works one-on-one with founders.

Sirise said in a post announcing the move that LiquidX is a studio focused on the application layer, which acts as the user interface for Web3 activities. It comes in the form of decentralized applications.

LiquidX looks to build five to six new companies mainly in two ways. The venture builder could create one on its own or partner with founders. If it collaborates with existing startups, LiquidX members will take tech and product roles in these companies’ founding teams.

Some of the products the firm has helped launch include gaming-first IP studio Pixelmon, anime publishing and licensing company Kasagi Labo, and Gvrn, which the venture builder says bridges on-chain governance with real-world legal infrastructure.

Before LiquidX and Saison Capital, Sirise served as an advisor for Antler and product manager at Grab, focusing on payments and lending products for Grab Financial Group.

Sirise said he will still personally invest in early-stage startups.

Joining him in LiquidX are angel investor Giulio Xiloyannis, Anime Metaverse CEO Kendrick Wong, and Spartan Labs tech lead Jun Hao Yap.
