A post on NeoGAF confirming the existence of the Final Fantasy VII remake for Playstation 4 (PS4) started floating around this morning.
Made by an industry insider known as Verendus, who supposedly has very strong ties with the Japanese gaming industry, it said:
Itβs happening. Heβs [producer Yoshinori Kitase] obviously not going to give any indication as such though so it hardly matters until theyβre ready to announce something. His comments make sense. Itβs a huge project that will take a lot of effort, and demand a lot from him personally, in order to ensure the end result is something satisfactory.
There was also an accompanying picture: a mock-up done with Unreal engine, according to source website Kdramastars. The site added that Verendus has a βgood track recordβ with information he receives.
Kdramastars added that the initial source (we canβt figure out what medium itβs on), Cyberland, said that the Final Fantasy VII remake for PS4 could be as early as 2015, and that the game would be revealed at E3 next year.
Obviously, with no official sources, this cannot be confirmed. But weβve been waiting for so long, and we already have an open-world Zelda. Sure Square Enix wouldnβt deny its fans further?
