Discussion: Get the next billion people online – but how?

I’m in the camp of those who think “free internet” schemes such as Internet.org and sponsored web passes are not much more than marketing schemes for the companies involved. I’ve written about it here and here.

I do believe it’s crucial to ensure more people have access to information, education and tools online, but there must be a better way!
