Retail tech startup built by former Flipkart execs bags $1m pre-series A

India-based retail technology startup Arzooo, established by former Flipkart executives, raised US$1 million in a pre-series A round led by Dubai’s Jabbar Internet Group.

The startup’s Go Store platform enables offline retailers to offer a large selection of items, competitive prices, and delivery services without the need to stock every item.

It currently supports retailers in Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Chennai. And with the fresh funds, the startup is looking to expand its presence across India, further develop its product, recruit more talent, and grow its retailer network. It currently has 500 partner stores.

Arzooo is focused on consumer electronics, but it plans to serve other categories by integrating 500,000 retailers into its platform by 2020. It was founded by Khushnud Khan, former associate director for retail at Flipkart, and Rishi Rathore, who was part of the online retail company’s product management team.
