Report: Tiger Global may invest up to $25m in Indian edtech startup Classplus

Tiger Global is likely to join the ongoing funding round of edtech startup Classplus,” reported Entrackr, citing three sources familiar with the matter.

Details

  • Tiger Global may invest between US$20 million and US$25 million in the edtech firm, which competes with Teachmint and Google-backed Cuemath.
  • If the deal pushes through, it could bump up Classplus’ valuation to between US$200 million and US$210 million. It would also mark Tiger Global’s fourth investment in the Indian edtech space after Byju’s, Unacademy, and Vedantu.

Context:

  • Classplus develops web and mobile-based tutor enablement applications, which help tutors connect with students and parents.
  • The company recently raised US$30 million in a round led by GSV and backed by existing investors such as Falcon Edge.
