Flocations helps budget-conscious travelers discover places they’d like to go
As a student bitten by the wanderlust bug, Flocations sure calls out to me. It is a travel discovery app that aims to help visitors discover new places based on a predetermined budget.
Throughout the JFDI-Innov8 2012 Bootcamp, the Singapore-based team had been iterating their product, with much focus on improving its user experience. They overhauled their entire site last month. Here is a round up of three key features they have:
An interactive exploration map
Right on the homepage, Flocations presents us with a price slider that helps users refine their trip search by budget. Sticking by their philosophy of travel discovery, Flocations’ exploration map allows travelers to discover and compare many destinations all at one glance.
Destination browsing
Travelers can envision their vacation by browsing through vivid photographs of chosen destinations.
Travel wishlist
Flocations users can save destinations that interest them on a personalized wishlist. This comes in handy if they want to review the destinations quickly for their next trip. Users can even receive specific information such as when is a good time to go there.

In the near future, the team at Flocations will add features such as more search filters, more information about destinations, and more personalization.
Flocations is currently available on Flocations.com, through a Facebook App and via third party websites who can embed it on their properties to inspire their visitors to travel.
It’s been quite a ride for Flocations, having endured the intensity of the JFDI Bootcamp and the extended hours they’ve spent in the “jungle” — the JFDI office. The co-founders have received much support from their wives and girlfriends, who were a major comfort throughout the team’s journey.
