RedDoorz names two new execs to help drive regional growth

Southeast Asian hotel management and booking platform RedDoorz announced key appointments to its management team. The company named former Booking.com exec Jupe Tsui as chief financial officer and Liviu Nedef, former marketing lead at Hooq, as group senior vice president for marketing.

Prior to his appointment, Tsui most recently served as regional chief financial officer for fintech firm Oriente. He was regional finance director at Booking.com.

At RedDoorz, Tsui will be responsible for refining and implementing the company’s financial growth strategy, according to a statement.

Nedef, on the other hand, has nearly 15 years of experience, previously leading marketing functions for digital, content, and ecommerce brands such as Lazada and Hooq.

“These appointments bolster our leadership team to accelerate RedDoorz’s regional growth,” said RedDoorz founder and CEO Amit Saberwal.

“Creating more robust commercialization strategies, taking greater control of our operational costs, developing impactful brand campaigns, and enhancing end-user experiences enriched with emerging technologies requires an experienced team with a depth of experience in their respective fields to ensure we are solving for both the current and future needs of our business,” he said.

Saberwal claims that the company has grown five times in size during the last 12 months. In that period, RedDoorz raised US$70 million from the first close of its larger series C funding round led by Nick Nash-founded Asia Partners. In July, it bagged US$45 million in a series B round.

Across the region, RedDoorz currently operates a network of over 1,500 properties in more than 120 cities in Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, and the Philippines. It is also planning to enter Thailand in 2020.
