Called Fantico, the trading platform would allow entertainers to create and auction off their own collectibles to their fans, investors, and collectors. In addition, exclusive wares including antiquarian books from the traditional world of auction houses will also be available for sale.
NFTs have permanent digital certificates of ownership secured and encrypted using blockchain-enabled technology.
The new entity will collaborate with brands and content creators to help determine the valuation of its catalogue of rare and exclusive items.
“Fantico is a result of a partnership between entities from the world of media and entertainment and individuals with huge experience in blockchain,” said Abhayanand Singh, group CEO and co-founder of Vistas Media Capital.
The media and entertainment investment firm currently operates and co-owns various business verticals across content production, over-the-top streaming, and gaming, among others.
Earlier this year, Vistas Media Capital set up a content and events production entity, Vistas Media FZ-LLC, in Abu Dhabi that will launch the a nine-day event called Abu Dhabi Media Fest to promote Indian and Arab media content.
In June, the company set up a production company in Abu Dhabi and planned to launch a US$150 million fund for special purpose acquisition companies for the Middle East and North Africa region.
