The fund was backed by new and existing investors, including public and corporate pensions, sovereign wealth funds, commercial banks, insurance companies, asset managers, and family offices. KKR also invested approximately US$150 million of its own capital into the new investment vehicle.
Dan Pietrzak and Matthieu Boulanger, partners and co-heads of private credit at KKR, said the ABF market – worth US$4.5 trillion globally – has become an appealing option for investors looking for attractive yields amid the current market environment.
Since 2016, KKR has deployed more than US$6 billion across 54 ABF investments through portfolio acquisitions, platform investments, and structured investments.
Globally, the firm has around US$35 billion in ABF assets under management. It also has a team of 35 professionals focused on ABF investments.
