Technology advancements have caused many falls and rises in the media world, that is as described by Adweek’s Alan Frutkin, who discusses the media landscape of 2010.
Some of the topics include net neutrality, Comcast-NBC merger and the future of print.
On hardware, Apple’s iPad is the highlight of 2010, which is certainly more talked about compared to Google TV. The iPad seems to be establishing standards for digital content consumption and the distribution of the written words.
Rupert Murdoch’s iPad-only newspaper, ‘TheDaily’ has taken a peek into the future of print. Does that mean that print is dead? According to Frutkin, “It’s not.” Instead, it is changing and has to adapt to what is happening in the market. 2011 would be an exciting year to witness how eReaders would change the way we consume news and content.
