ComfortDelGro Taxi Booking app reaches Blackberry; useless during peak periods
ComfortDelGro, the largest taxi operator in Singapore, has finally launched its taxi booking app for the Blackberry. The app is already available on the iPhone and Android.
Developed by Apps Foundry, a Indonesia-based mobile apps development company, the app has these features: on-location taxi booking via GPS, bookmarking of favorite addresses, push notification booking conformation, and more.
In Singapore, the iPhone and Android dominates the market for smartphones, which is estimated at 3.1M. According to a Nielsen study, the iPhone’s market share stands at around 68 percent in 2011. Android came in at 24 percent, while Blackberry had 14 percent.
Besides ComfortDelGro, SMRT also has its own taxi booking app.
With the taxi operators having caught up with the mobile era, perhaps it’s time they start improving their core service — like making sure people can find their cabs when they need one.
After all, what’s the use of an app when you can’t get a cab?
