India travel startup snags $3m from private investors
Chennai-based travel startup Pickyourtrail has closed a US$3 million series A funding round led by GoFrugal CEO Kumar Vembu and Ithought founder Shyam Sekhar. Rajagopal Subramanian, CIO at Entrust Family Office, and Girish Mathrubootham, CEO of Freshworks, also joined the round.
The startup plans to use the capital infusion to scale its proprietary technology, develop products, and expand its technical team.
Pickyourtrail allows vacationers to buy travel packages, view real-time prices, and book their trips. Using its “comfort score algorithm,” the platform takes into account over 40 factors, such as holiday duration, travel time, and ratings, to build personalized itineraries that travelers can further customize.
Users can also keep track of their bookings via the app, in addition to receiving real-time flight information, weather updates, restaurant recommendations, and on-trip chat support.
