Paging Dr. Mundo: Chinese LoL player slashes friend's head with a cleaver over bad games
Raging in the game is bad enough, but this is ridiculous: a Chinese League of Legends player went full Dr. Mundo on a friend after the two got into a heated dispute over who was performing poorly in their games.
According to a Sanxia newspaper, the two guys in question were named Yu and Ming. Coming from the same area of Yichang, they knew each other quite well. They were friends, at least in the game. On August 16th, Yu went to a nearby internet cafe, logged into LoL, and discovered that Ming was online. Ming told Yu that he was in a different local internet cafe, and eventually the two agreed to play together online.

The games, apparently, did not go well. Yu felt that Ming was performing badly, and did not hesitate to make his feelings heard. Ming refused to concede that he was the problem, and the two began to curse at each other.
Eventually, Ming became so angry about Yu’s criticism of his play that he logged off, found a kitchen cleaver, and ran straight to the internet cafe where he knew Yu was playing. He began slashing at Yu’s head with the cleaver, and when Yu managed to get away he called his parents, who called the police.
The story does have a happy ending of sorts: although Yu is reportedly still in the hospital receiving treatment, the wounds he got are not life threatening. And because the two players’ parents know each other, it is likely that they will come to a financial settlement rather than pursuing criminal charges.
