Through these accelerators, early-stage Singapore-based startups will have the opportunity to learn about the US market, while growth-stage startups worldwide will get insight into Southeast Asia. Applications are open until February 26, 2021, the company said in a statement.

The two programs will support startups to develop business expansion and growth strategies, as well as provide them access to mentors from 500 Startups who possess business experience in Southeast Asia and the US. The accelerators will also provide networking opportunities with the VC firm’s startup community, corporate partners, and industry stakeholders.

“Singapore and San Francisco are among leading startup ecosystems globally. Through our global launch programs, we aim to strengthen the bridge between the two hubs – leveraging Singapore’s position in Southeast Asia and San Francisco’s reputation as a technology hub,” said Ee Ling Lim, regional director of Asia-Pacific business development at 500 Startups.

Batch 3 of the two programs will run concurrently and will be structured in two phases. The first phase will take place from March 29 to May 21, while the second phase is scheduled to be held in Q3 and Q4 this year.

500 Startups first held the two programs in 2019, which are part of a two-way partnership with Enterprise Singapore.

Since its inception in 2010, the VC firm has invested in over 2,500 companies across 78 countries. Some of its investments include Grab, Bukalapak, Credit Karma, Canva, Talkdesk, Intercom, and GitLab.
