Global fintech firm Payoneer has launched a payment solution called Payoneer Checkout for online sellers. The service is currently available in the Asia Pacific and will be gradually rolled out globally.

Founded in 2005, Payoneer initially focused on B2B and marketplace payments. The new payment service marks its entrance into the direct-to-consumer (D2C) market.

In a statement, the company said that the D2C market in India is expected to grow 3x from 2020 to 2025 and hit a US$100 billion milestone in sales.

“Today’s SMBs aspire to sell through multiple channels, which brings about the challenge of managing multiple payment setups. Expanding into payment acceptance is a very natural extension of our offering,” said Payoneer chief executive Scott Galit.

Last year, Payoneer partnered with South Korean ecommerce giant Coupang to allow sellers from around the world to more easily expand into the country.
