Partyphile puts Manila nightlife on the map, helps you go VIP

partyphile

Guestlist debuted on app stores in December 2013 and has since changed the nightlife experience in Manila. Forget about paying an entrance fee or lining up just to get into clubs and events – the app has made it all easy for its users, which now number 40,000.

After gaining traction, Ron Baetiong, the startup’s founder and CEO, decided to take it up a notch. He added functionalities to the app that will help people discover Manila’s nightlife even more. He overhauled the whole thing to create Partyphile, a fresh version of Guestlist.

“We wanted to embrace all party goers into one app under one name that resonates what we do and not get limited with just one functionality,” Baetiong says of the rebranding.

“Aside from being able to get on the guest lists of all the top clubs, you can also book tables, buy an all-access VIP membership, and buy event tickets on the app,” adds Baetiong.

Splitting the bill

Partyphiles may invite four of their friends through the app and split the tab for the down payment for a table in the club of their choice. Meeting new people is also supported in the app as the tab can be split among fellow app users. Tabs are deducted from users’ phone credit or charged to their monthly bill – another new feature.

The startup has priced its “Platinum VIP membership” at PHP799 (US$18) a day for the most hardcore party goers.

Other new features include event search and filters, automatic guest listing for friends, and geo targeting, which shows events within five kilometers of where you open the app.

Partyphile will be available for download on Apple’s App Store and Google Play within the week, according to Baetiong. “Nightlife will never be the same in the country, because discovery and access are now at your fingertips.”
