Want to be a part of a 5,000-strong tech conference? Here’s how.

volunteer-feature-image

You should have heard by now that Tech in Asia Singapore 2016 will be opening its doors to 5,000 attendees this coming April 12 and 13. Our fifth flagship conference is set to be the biggest ever, and we need some extra hands to make it happen.

What’s in it for me?

Being a volunteer (you’ll be needed over three days, from April 11 to 13) means that you get a chance to meet tech celebrities (past speakers include Ben Horowitz, Om Malik, Nadiem Makarim, Werner Vogels, and more), access insights from our speakers, and get hands-on involvement behind the scenes to learn how conferences work. For students, this will be a major boost for your CV if you’re looking to dip your toes into the world of events or technology upon graduation.

Other volunteer perks include:

  • Priority consideration for a Tech in Asia internship
  • A complimentary pass to Tech in Asia Singapore 2017, worth at least US$499
  • Two conference-exclusive Tech in Asia shirts
  • Certificate of Participation (for students)
  • An invite to volunteers’ after-party

With the expansion of content stages, there will be specific roles and responsibilities for each volunteer. Volunteers can choose to be involved in one of the following areas:

1. Registration

Be at the front line of Tech in Asia Singapore 2016! You will be the first touchpoint of all our attendees, including speakers, sponsors, investors, and other industry heavyweights, ensuring that all 5,000 attendees have a fuss-free check-in process.

2. Production

The pillar of all Tech in Asia conferences, you will assist production managers in ensuring that the two-day conference runs smoothly. This includes having dedicated volunteers managing certain segments of the conference, such as the exhibition halls, meeting areas, investor lounge, and restricted food areas for selected pass holders.

3. Stage content

We pride ourselves in providing our conference go-ers with the best stage content that is carefully curated and serves our audience’s needs. As a volunteer with the content stage team, you will be responsible for assisting stage managers in communicating to the speakers their personal schedules, ensuring that they are on standby before their designated speaking slots, and more.

4. Speed Dating

Startup-Investor Speed Dating is a hallmark of all our Tech in Asia conferences. Be a part of this popular segment by being the speed dating wingman for startups and investors! You will help ensure that the queues are orderly, man the registration counters, as well as address queries from participating startups and investors.

5. Social media

Breathe life into our conference by capturing the best of #tiasg2016 on our social media channels! You will crystallize the wise words of speakers into 140 characters or less, and cover off-stage highlights. Having a good eye for picture-worthy moments is a bonus too.
