Indian hospitality chain Oyo Hotels and Homes has started a hotel joint venture with SoftBank in Japan.

Prasun Choudhary, who’s helped launched Oyo’s other global businesses, will serve as operating partner for Oyo Hotels Japan.
Oyo looks to capitalize on Japan’s growing popularity as a tourist destination. “We at Oyo Hotels and Homes see this as a huge opportunity and are excited to contribute towards the growth of the local economy,” Oyo CEO and founder Ritesh Agarwal said.
The company recently rolled out apartment rental service Oyo Life in the country, through a joint venture deal with Yahoo.
