In brief: Ola suspends Foodpanda India delivery, cuts staff
- Bangalore-based Ola has suspended Foodpanda India’s business 18 months after acquiring the company, Livemint reported, citing four people aware of the development.
- The company also laid off roughly 40 entry- to mid-level employees and terminated the bulk of its 1,500 food delivery executives’ contracts, the sources added.
- The development followed competitors Swiggy and Zomato pursuing rapid expansion across cities and focusing on discounts.
