In brief: Ofo lays off operations team in Singapore without compensation
Bike-sharing firm Ofo laid off its Singapore operations team just days before the Chinese New Year holidays. Since the start of this week, several employees were informed individually over the phone that January 31 would be their last day. The company didn’t disclose any reasons for their termination.
The employees involved weren’t offered the one-month compensation stipulated in their contract agreements. But they would be paid their salary for January.
