Acudeen beats 6 startups to win Tech in Asia Tokyo Arena

Acudeen has claimed the top prize at the Arena startup pitch battle at Tech in Asia Tokyo 2016. It has won the right to an investment worth US$100,000 from 500 Startups.

Acudeen helps small businesses with less than three years of operations turn receivables into cash. The businesses are able to gain access to 80 percent of their receivables to instantly boost their cash flows and working capital.

Judges for this Arena battle were Vishal Harnal and Yohei Sawayama, both venture partners at 500 Startups, and Hogil Doh, head of Rakuten Ventures in Japan.

Vital Smith came in second, and Mober took third spot.

Here is a list of all the startups that made it to the finals:

Acudeen Technologies: Acudeen makes it easy and possible for small and medium enterprises with less than 3 years of operation to have access to financing by unlocking the value of their receivables.

Aquabit Spirals: Its product Smart Plate is a programmable “physical bookmark”. Tap your smartphone to the physical plate which is linked to information online.

KiWi New Energy: The startup designs Smart Home Energy solutions, by simplifying the smart system installation and application process and developing an online P2P green energy sharing model.

Mober Technology: Mober is a marketplace that connects delivery vans with users. It operates in Manila and aims to standardise a fragmented delivery market.

Vital Smith: Its product B-Bless aims to make it easy for couples to figure out their fertility window.

XTreme Design: XTreme Design specialises in fintech and deep learning. It allows clients to rent their supercomputers by the hour or minute via a subscription model.

ZAISAN Net: Its product Kabuto-yohou offers investment information to same-day traders based on the time-lag between when the information is released and the stock price stabilizes.
