Next Level Games, perhaps best known for Super Mario Strikers, Punch-out!, and most recently Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, has announced that it will only be developing games with Nintendo in the future. The previously independent game development studio started back in 2002 and has since developed twelve games, many of which are already Nintendo Exclusives.
In an interview with Gamasutra, Next Level Games co-founder, Jason Carr had this to say about the decision.
“All the stuff that we really focused on was very gameplay-centric; it wasn’t massive RPG storytelling and all that. It was really what feels good in your hand, you know what I mean? Nintendo has a very similar approach. So definitely, we like to make the same sort of games, so that’s a good fit.”
With Next Level Games track record and Nintendo’s backing, I’m sure we can expect big things in the future.
