Nexon partners with Tiancity to bring Counter Strike Online 2 to China

Around a month ago, we told you about the Chinese army’s controversial Call of Duty clone. This time, it’s the real thing, except it’s not Call of Duty. It’s Counter Strike Online 2! And it’s coming to China!

Counter Strike Online 2
Based on the popular Counter Strike series by Valve, South Korean company Nexon developed and released Counter Strike Online in 2008 and has since been one of the top titles in China. Following that success, Nexon has partnered with Tiancity to bring Counter Strike Online 2 to China. According to Seungwoo Choi, President and CEO of Nexon Co., Ltd:

We are pleased to build on our successful partnership with Tiancity to deliver another installment of the highly successful Counter-Strike Online franchise to players in China. We think players will love the exciting new features offered in this sequel and look forward to continuing a productive relationship with Tiancity in the future.

FPS fans can continue to enjoy playing the popular game on an enhanced Source engine, also by Valve. Players can expect improved graphics and powerful impact physics while maintaining that awesome nostalgic Counter Strike gameplay.

Counter Strike Online 2 maintains its original gameplay of players being in one of two factions — the terrorists or counter terrorists — whose mutual goal is to wipe out the other, rescue hostages, or plant bombs in a series of rounds depending on the map. Aside from improved graphics, it also brings to the table several features tailored for the Chinese audience, such as more weapons, equipment customization, improved environments and a new game mode that allows an all-out war with 64 players in a map called ‘Big City’. Here’s a video of some Big City game play:
