Zepto CEO refutes Zomato’s quick commerce cash burn claim

Zepto CEO Aadit Palicha has denied assertions made by Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal about the cash burn in the quick commerce sector.

In an interview with The Economic Times, Goyal claimed that Zepto was responsible for over half of the quick commerce industry’s US$573.13 million quarterly cash burn, estimating Zepto’s share at about US$286.56 million.

Palicha responded on LinkedIn, labeling the claim as “verifiably untrue.” He indicated that clarification would come once the company files its financial statements.

He suggested that Goyal’s statement could have been an honest mistake.
