YouTube Shorts has introduced new features to improve short-form video creation, including an enhanced video editor, AI-generated stickers, automatic beat-syncing for clips, improved templates, and image stickers.

The updated editor allows creators to adjust clip timing, rearrange or remove clips, add music or timed text, and preview videos.

YouTube has promised additional editing updates in the future.

The new AI stickers feature lets users create custom stickers from text prompts, while image stickers can be uploaded from the gallery.

The beat-syncing function automatically aligns video clips with music rhythms, similar to TikTok. Enhanced templates now support photo uploads and effects.

These updates will roll out in the coming months, potentially attracting creators if TikTok faces a ban in the US on Apr. 5.
