YouTube has launched its shopping affiliate program in Singapore, partnering with Shopee to enable creators to promote products through their content.

Creators can tag products in videos and live streams, allowing viewers to purchase seamlessly via Shopee.

This provides Singaporean creators with a new monetization avenue alongside ads and memberships, while Shopee sellers gain access to a larger audience.

Video-driven ecommerce is growing in Southeast Asia, with video commerce accounting for 20% of the region’s ecommerce Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) in 2024.

YouTube reports that 62% of Singaporean consumers have bought products discovered on the platform.

The program has already seen success in Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, and Thailand, with Shopee Indonesia reporting a sixfold increase in daily orders. Now, Singaporean creators and brands can leverage this tool for engagement and sales.
