WeChat, UnionPay boost foreign e-wallet use for travelers
UnionPay International and WeChat Pay have launched improved payment services for foreign travelers in China.
Visitors can now use one of eight overseas e-wallets, including Bangkok Bank Mobile Banking and NAVER Pay, to make payments by scanning WeChat QR codes.
This initiative supports China’s efforts to make the country more accessible for international visitors.
Additionally, travelers can link credit cards from major issuers such as Visa and Mastercard to WeChat Pay and Alipay.
