US cybersecurity firm Cybereason raises $120m led by Softbank
Cybereason, a cybersecurity firm valued at US$5 billion, has raised US$120 million in a funding round led by SoftBank Corp., SoftBank Vision Fund 2, and Liberty Strategic Capital.
This investment comes as the company faces financial and operational challenges, including internal disputes and ongoing litigation.
The announcement of the funding coincides with the appointment of Manish Narula, formerly of SoftBank, as Cybereason’s new CEO.
This change follows the resignation of former CEO Eric Gan, who accused key investors of delaying funding efforts to gain more control over the company.
Cybereason specializes in endpoint detection and response (EDR) technology and has struggled to secure new capital.
With the latest funding, Cybereason aims to stabilize operations and focus on its core cybersecurity products.
