Uber has partnered with WeRide and Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA) to introduce self-driving vehicles as part of Dubai’s goal to make 25% of all trips autonomous by 2030.

WeRide will be Uber’s first autonomous vehicle partner in Dubai, launching pilot programs to integrate self-driving rides into the platform while ensuring data sharing, safety, and regulatory compliance.

WeRide secured the UAE’s national license for self-driving vehicles in July 2023 and began commercial operations in Abu Dhabi in December 2024.

The Dubai pilot’s timeline and rollout details will be announced in the coming months.
