Uber launches ride-booking pilot for teens in India
Uber has launched a pilot program in India, allowing teenagers aged 13 to 17 to book rides through its platform.
The service is currently being tested in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, marking a shift from its previous 18+ policy.
Parents or guardians can set up accounts for teens using Uber’s family profile feature, which requires registering a debit or credit card.
Safety features include live trip tracking and notifications sent to guardians when a ride is requested.
Uber plans to expand the program to 35 more cities, including Ahmedabad, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Pune.
