TSMC US shares hit 25% premium, highest in two months
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co (TSMC)’s US-listed shares were trading at nearly a 25% premium to its domestically listed shares as of last Friday, the highest in over two months.
This increase signals that global investors are still willing to pay a premium for stocks expected to benefit from the AI boom.
The 24.6% premium noted at Friday’s close exceeds the daily average of 19% for the quarter.
The increase is attributed to differing performances between TSMC’s Taipei and New York shares.
On Friday, local shares fell 3.3% after a volatile Asian trading, while improved sentiment in New York lifted TSMC’s US shares by 1.3%.
