Tencent restructures consumer AI product line with key team shifts
Tencent has reorganized its AI-focused consumer applications, moving key platforms such as QQ Browser, Sogou Input, and ima.copilot to its Cloud and Smart Industries Group (CSIG).
This restructuring follows an earlier adjustment in 2025 when Tencent transferred its AI assistant, Yuanbao, from its Technology Engineering Group (TEG) to CSIG.
The changes intend to improve resource allocation and integrate AI functionalities across Tencent’s product suite.
As of January 2025, QQ Browser reported over 430 million monthly active users, while Sogou Input maintains a large user base. ima.copilot, launched by the QQ Browser team in October 2024, is an AI-native productivity tool integrated with WeChat.
In the meantime, CSIG has upgraded its cloud infrastructure to enable faster deployment of AI models for enterprise clients.
