US in talks with 4 groups over TikTok sale, Trump says

United States President Donald Trump announced on Mar.9 that his administration is in discussions with four parties regarding the potential sale of TikTok, which is owned by Chinese company ByteDance.

This announcement follows a law enacted on Jan. 19 that requires ByteDance to divest TikTok on national security grounds or face a ban.

Trump said that the options under review are viable but did not disclose details about the potential buyers.

“We’re dealing with four different groups, and a lot of people want it … all four are good,” he said.
