TikTok to invest $8.8b in Thailand data centers by 2029

TikTok, owned by ByteDance, plans to invest US$8.8 billion in data centers in Thailand over the next five years.

Helena Lersch, vice president of public policy at TikTok, announced the investment during an event in Bangkok on Feb. 28.

The details about how this investment may relate to a previous US$3.8 billion agreement announced by Thailand’s investment board last month are currently unclear.
