Taiwan to rank among top semiconductor equipment spenders
Taiwan is expected to be one of the top spenders on semiconductor equipment globally in 2025 and 2026, following China and South Korea, according to SEMI, an industry association for the electronics supply chain.
SEMI estimates Taiwan will allocate US$21 billion in 2025 and US$24.5 billion in 2026 for semiconductor fabrication equipment.
This investment will enhance high-end chip technologies and boost production capacity to meet growing demand for AI applications in cloud services and edge devices.
