Struggling SolarEdge appoints new CFO
SolarEdge Technologies has appointed Asaf Alperovitz as its new chief financial officer, replacing Ariel Porat, who left after nine months.
Alperovitz previously served as CFO at Delta Galil for over four years before departing a year ago.
His appointment comes amid ongoing restructuring efforts and significant challenges for the company.
The company has seen multiple leadership changes recently. Long-time CFO Ronen Faier stepped down in mid-2024 after 14 years, replaced by Porat.
CEO Zvi Lando resigned in August but remains a board director, while Faier briefly served as interim CEO before Shuki Nir, the former CMO, took over in December.
Chairman Nadav Zafrir also resigned to become CEO of Check Point but remains a SolarEdge director.
SolarEdge’s market value has plummeted from nearly US$20 billion in 2022 to US$955 million today, hit by a weak European solar market, excess inventory, rising US interest rates, and regulatory changes in California.
Despite this, the company reported positive free cash flow in late 2024 and has implemented cost-cutting measures, including over 2,000 layoffs.
