SK Telecom plans AI hub for Asia-Pacific
SK Telecom, a subsidiary of SK Group, plans to build an AI data center hub in South Korea to serve the Asia-Pacific region.
The project aims to serve the Asia-Pacific region and was announced by CEO Ryu Young-sang at the SK AI Summit 2024 held Monday and Tuesday.
The initiative, named the “AI infrastructure superhighway,” seeks to integrate AI data centers, graphic processing units as a service (GPUaaS), and edge AI technology.
SK Telecom will build a hyperscale AI data center with over 100 megawatts of electricity capacity, with plans for future expansion to a gigawatt level.
