Sequoia Capital to shut down Washington DC office by 2025
Sequoia Capital has announced it will close its Washington DC office and dissolve its policy team by the end of March 2025, affecting three employees and policy fellows.
The DC office, established five years ago, aimed to help portfolio companies navigate regulatory issues and foster relationships with policymakers.
A Sequoia spokesperson said that the firm can maintain these connections and expertise in the US and Europe without a dedicated policy function.
The closure signals a shift in Sequoia’s approach to policy engagement, relying on existing networks instead of an in-house team.
