Sequoia in talks to fund ex-OpenAI CTO Murati’s startup

Sequoia Capital partner Alfred Lin confirmed that the firm is in discussions with Mira Murati, the former chief technology officer of OpenAI, about funding her new venture.

Murati launched her startup, Thinking Machines Lab, earlier this year after leaving OpenAI in September 2024.

Murati has brought together several former OpenAI employees to work at her startup.

It aims to develop AI models and products for human-AI collaboration.
